Ingredients
1½cupwarm water(Use thermometer to keep temperature around 100℉)
1packageinstant yeast(Standard package is 7g)
1tablespoonsugar
1teaspoonsalt
3½ cupsAll-purpose flour
1tablespoonolive oil(For brushing dough and oiling the bowl)
Instructions
In a large bowl combine flour, salt and sugar and set aside
In a glass measuring cup, add warm water and yeast, let stand for 5 minutes, keeping temperature around 100℉ (Don't go below 95℉ or above 110℉)
Add yeast mixture to the flour and mix with your hands or a wooden spoon until combined. The dough may be sticky. Place on a floured surface and knead for 5 minutes, sprinkling flour if too sticky. Dough would be ready when you poke it and it bounces back or do the "windowpane test" by spreading or stretching the dough with your fingers and you can see light through it without breaking through.
Place dough in an oiled bowl and cover with a warm damp cloth. Allow to rise 60 to 90 minutes or when double in size.
Punch down the dough and place on a floured surface. Cut in half and store half of the dough if not make 2 pizzas and wrap in plastic wrap in the freezer
Use a rolling pin or hands to stretch the dough into a round disc.
Optional: Brush with olive oil and sprinkle garlic powder and Italian seasoning for an extra flavorful crust. The dough is ready for your favorite toppings!
