12button mushroomslarge would be better
1smallonion, diced
18ozcream cheeseroom temp
1/2cuppanko bread crumbs
1tbspolive oil
1padbutter
salt and pepper
garlic powder
lemon juice
1/4tspcayenne pepper
fresh chopped parsley
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees, set the middle rack. Rinse and pat dry mushrooms. 2 Remove stems and place in separate bowl. Place mushrooms on an oiled or non-stick cooking sheet. Fill each mushroom with a little lemon juice for a little tang.3 Chop mushroom stems and onion, set aside to be used for filling. In a medium to hot heat pan, add oil and butter. As soon as oil starts to sizzle add chopped mushroom stems and diced onion. 4 Season with garlic, salt and pepper, garlic. Sautee till translucent, about 3 to 4 minutes.5 To pan, add softened cream cheese, break it down with a wooden spoon, and combine till mixture is uniform.6 Mix in panko breadcrumbs till all are combined. Remove from heat and let cool for 5 minutes. Use a spoon to fill in each mushroom. when mushrooms are filled, top with parmesan or favorite shredded cheese. Bake for about 20 to 25 minutes or until lightly brown on top and mushrooms look darker and wrinkled.7 Remove from oven and add chopped parsley or more cheese for garnish.
