Ingredients

  • cup warm water (Use thermometer to keep temperature around 100℉)
  • 1 package instant yeast (Standard package is 7g)
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 ½ cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (For brushing dough and oiling the bowl)

Instructions

  • In a large bowl combine flour, salt and sugar and set aside
  • In a glass measuring cup, add warm water and yeast, let stand for 5 minutes, keeping temperature around 100℉ (Don't go below 95℉ or above 110℉)
  • Add yeast mixture to the flour and mix with your hands or a wooden spoon until combined. The dough may be sticky. Place on a floured surface and knead for 5 minutes, sprinkling flour if too sticky. Dough would be ready when you poke it and it bounces back or do the "windowpane test" by spreading or stretching the dough with your fingers and you can see light through it without breaking through.
    Knead dough until smooth and soft
  • Place dough in an oiled bowl and cover with a warm damp cloth. Allow to rise 60 to 90 minutes or when double in size.
  • Punch down the dough and place on a floured surface. Cut in half and store half of the dough if not make 2 pizzas and wrap in plastic wrap in the freezer
  • Use a rolling pin or hands to stretch the dough into a round disc.

  • Optional: Brush with olive oil and sprinkle garlic powder and Italian seasoning for an extra flavorful crust. The dough is ready for your favorite toppings!
